Naperville, IL - February 24, 2009 - Juna Amagara Ministries today launched its new campaign called 880ThousandOrphans.com at the A.M. Rotary Club of Naperville South at Mimi's Cafe.  The campaign is designed to collect $1.00 for each of the 880,000 orphan children in Uganda who are living without any family or means of support.  "With this campaign, we are giving people the opportunity to be creative in raising small amounts of money - a dollar for every employee at work, collections at clubs, collections at stores, fundraisers at schools... whatever it takes to raise as many dollars as possible," said Ben Tumuheirwe, the organization's Executive Director from Uganda in his talk to the club.  "This is a new idea and we are launching it here because we know you are creative people who care about saving the lives of these children."

A.M. Rotary Naperville South is a new club, just one year old, but is already active in supporting local events, local charities and also the orphan program in Uganda.  The members sponsor Joseph, a young man in the Juna Amagara program for housing, education, food and medical care.

"We have watched this organization work miracles with children who have no hope," said Club President Rich Goulet.  "We are delighted to be the launching pad for this campaign.  Our members see great value in what Juna Amagar does.  If this effort gets others involved, maybe together we can put a dent in the AIDS orphan problem in this one African nation."
