How will these funds help solve the AIDS crisis in Uganda?
Solving the AIDS problem means changing the behavior of the people in the region. By raising children in the program, educated in ABC - sexual abstinencebefore marriage, being faithful to one spouse and keeping Christ at the center of your life, we have proven that these children will influence others to do the same. In time, this will kill the disease.
How is helping kids in Uganda different than helping kids in the US?
First, we believe no children should suffer as the result of disease or abuse or natural disaster. The difference is, in the US there are many government agencies in place that adequately ensure every child is fed, clothed, receives medical treatment and can go to school. In Uganda, for these 880,000 children whose parents have died, there is no government agency that will take care of them. They are on their own. Many will die if they are not taken in.
How can we know donated funds will not be diverted to corrupt officials?
Juna Amagara is not a government organization. Funds are wired to the ministry directly and are accounted for by staff personnel. Annual independent audits in Uganda and the U.S. ensure funds are handled properly.
How will funds be administered?
Funds will be administered and accounted for by Juna Amagara under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Is Juna Amagara a 501(c)3 charity?
Yes. Donations to Juna Amagara are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.
